Calvin H. Jennings, Ph.D., RPA

Consulting Archaeologist / Assoc. Prof. Of Anthropology, Colorado State Univ.

Dr. Jennings’ academic credentials include a BA, MA and Ph.D., all from the University of Colorado, in Anthroplogy.  In addition, he has extensive technical training in crime scene management, documentation, and reconstruction.  He also has training bloodstain pattern analysis and interpretation, shooting scene reconstruction, and death scene investigation.  He has worked as a consulting and an academic archaeologist in Rocky Mt. states, Nevada, Arizona, and California.  Dr. Jennings has been associated with NecroSearch since 1990 providing support in the search for and recovery of remains from surface and buried contexts.  He is a Board Member of the Rocky Mtn. Division of the IAI, is an active member of the Assoc. for Crime Scene Reconstruction and has recently accepted a position as an Assoc. Director of the Southern Institute of Forensic Sciences.  Primarily through NecroSearch, he has worked on more than 15 remains search and recovery cases in several jurisdictions in the West and Midwest including local police departments, county sheriff’s offices, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.  Through the Southern Institute of Forensic Sciences, Cal has served as one of the instructors in multi-disciplinary courses in Human Remains Search, Recovery, and Identification.  At Colorado State Univ. he teaches a variety of archaeological courses including Forensic Archaeology and Advanced Archaeological Methods.  The latter includes the various applications of near and distant remote sensing in archaeology and forensic case work.
